Course Description

Welcome to the our study of Microeconomics. Timing couldn't be better to study this very exciting and challenging course in understanding business behavior. This course, which can also be referred to as business economics at the introductory level focuses on the business behavior in the changing world of consumer demand, competition, ,technology and role of the government. We will try to understand how businesses make decisions with a goal of maximizing the profit or minimizing the losses in a market full of risk and uncertainty.

The topics we are going to cover in this course are not all new to you. You are familiar with economic issues, economic changes and economic decision making as a consumer, worker as well as a business person in some cases. In this course, we are putting these issues together in a organized manner to see the cause and effect connection. Emphasis is on the current events as I believe in teaching economics from a practical point of view and not so much from technical point of view. This class will be fun and rewarding if we work together. This is my commitment to you. So enjoy the class and work towards getting the maximum benefit.
