Course Description |
This is an introductory course of computerized accounting system functions utilizing an integrated general ledger software package (such as QuickBooks) and spreadsheet software (such as Excel). It will focus on the daily accounting for a small service business. Issues addressed will include techniques in sales and receivables, payables and purchases, general accounting, and payroll. Students will use a step-by-step tutorial method to complete the daily accounting transactions using QuickBooks software. At the end of each chapter, the students use a different fictitious company to reinforce the concepts presented within the chapter. There is no comprehensive practice set required for the Intersession semester. I recommend that all students go through the Help for You and Golf World practice sets at the end of the chapter 4 and chapter 7 respectively before your trial version of QuickBooks expires. However, the practice sets are not required for Intercession. |
