Required
application software is Macromedia Dreamweaver 8. Macromedia
Dreamweaver 8 software is also available at the Learning Resource
Center computers at City College, Mesa College, and Miramar College.
The latest version of an Internet Browser (Internet Explorer v7 preferred)
is also required. Adobe Reader v8 is required to view much of the
class material. Flash Player v8 and File Compression software
are also required.

Description
|

| This
course provides a hands-on approach to planning, designing, and
creating Web pages for an Intranet or World Wide Web site. Students
learn to use Dreamweaver, HTML, MS Office, wizards and templates
to create Web pages with hypertext links and video, graphics,
and audio enhancements. Student will learn to design, create,
manage, and publish Web sites on the Internet for personal use
or business use. Dreamweaver 8 is
the industry-leading web development tool, enabling users to efficiently
design, develop and maintain standards-based websites and web applications.
With Dreamweaver 8, web developers go from start to finish, creating
and maintaining basic websites to advanced applications that support
best practices and the latest technologies.Graphics,
images, and animations for the web will be developed using Macromedia
Fireworks and Flash software applications.

Objectives
|

| The
goal of this class is to develop an in-depth understanding of
how to create dynamic interactive Web pages containing text,
images, hyperlinks, animation, sounds, video, and other elements.
We will create individual Web pages and complex Web sites consisting
of many Web pages linked together which share a common interface
and design. Students will obtain a free web site account. Completed
web sites will be uploaded, maintained, presented on individual
student web sites. Computer exercises will be done using Macromedia
Dreamweaver 8, HTML, Windows, and Internet Explorer. We will save
files in many different file formats including HTML, JavaScript,
and XML. |

sure you send in your tuition payment so that you don't lose your registration!
Fees are $20.00 per unit for in California residents and $163
per unit for out of state tuition.
- The
mandatory health service fee is currently $13 for the semester.

completion of registration with ClassTalk, and 10 days prior to the
start of the semester, you will receive a postcard in the mail with
login instructions.

Class -NOT- Self-Paced Correspondence Class
|
CBTE-162 is
a demanding course which requires a lot of organized
student effort on an almost daily basis. This is an online class,
not a self-paced class. You are expected to login to this class
at least three times a week. There are
assignments and quizzes scheduled on a regular basis. Late
Work is Unacceptable!
You
must have regular access to the course-required software,
including Dreamweaver 8. Other
versions of Dreamweaver WILL NOT SUFFICE. You must
also install the latest versions of Adobe Reader, Internet
Explorer, Flash Player.
You
must have the required textbook. You must have a regularly-available
internet connection. You must have access to the required software.
Students taking
this class must be aware of school policies with respect to plagiarism
and academic cheating. College Procedure 3100.3, [copies can
be obtained in the Office of the VP, Student Services], describes
the Academic and Administrative Sanctions for students who are
found to be cheating. Several students have been removed from
recent CISC-181 classes with appropriate sanctions for using
someone else's work or allowing their work to be used by another.
You must NEVER use another student's file! You must Never allow
any of your files to be used by another student! Please be alerted
in advance!!! No exceptions!!! |

your course.
Face-to-face
(in class) 1-hour
orientations on how to use WebCT.
Orientation will cover how to login to WebCT, navigating in
WebCT, technology requirements and troubleshooting, sample
online course, strategies for success in an online course.
