· To gain complete control of the keyboard and develop the locational security necessary to permit quick, rapid stroking. · To reach 30 or more words a minute and a level where stroking is automatic (See Grade and WAM scale) · To help the student build basic level mastery on straight-copy material · To reinforce the English language · To introduce the concept of thinking and keying simultaneously (composition). · To teach and reinforce proper stroking techniques, correct body positioning at the keyboard and a neat work environment · To introduce ergonomic tips regularly throughout the class to minimize repetitive stress injuries associated with keyboarding. · To create and manage files |
