“Engaging the Digital Native: Individualizing Online Learning through Media-Rich Content”

Brief Description:
The presentation will be broken into two parts. During the first part, professors Jim Read and Bob Isaacson will discuss why their online classes needed to be transformed into media-rich experiences for their students. They will then demonstrate several enhanced podcasts, online literary video chats, automated comments, instruction modules created in Captivate, and show how they use photo, audio, and collaborative learning in their classrooms.  The second part of the presentation will feature the college’s educational technology specialist, Dave Brown, who will describe how he and the college have worked with instructors to promote creation of media-rich content in a way that is both practical and ADA compliant.
